The science behind
NAD+ treatment.
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a peptide and a coenzyme found in every cell of the body and plays a vital role in energy production, cellular repair, and metabolic function.
As we age or undergo physical stress, NAD+ levels naturally decline, which can impact energy, recovery, and overall vitality. NAD+ injections are designed to support the body’s natural processes by enhancing cellular metabolism, improving post-workout recovery, and promoting more efficient energy use.
When combined with a comprehensive weight loss program including prescription medication, NAD+ may help patients feel more energized, recover faster, and stay on track with their wellness goals.
How does it feel to take NAD+? Our patients typically report:
Increased energy and reduced fatigue throughout the day
Faster muscle recovery after workouts or physical activity
Sharper focus and improved mental clarity
Better mood and motivation to stay consistent with health goals
We offer NAD+ injections at doses of 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg. These injections can be administered every 4–7 days, though most patients prefer weekly injections for convenience. NAD+ injections are given subcutaneously—just beneath the skin, similar to GLP-1 injections.
We typically recommend starting with a weekly dose of 25 mg for the first four weeks. This allows your body to gradually acclimate to the boost of energy that higher doses may provide. Beginning with higher doses too quickly can sometimes lead to mild side effects, such as insomnia, anxiety, or feeling jittery.
NAD+ treatments are widely praised for supporting overall wellness, energy levels, and healthy aging. Many patients find NAD+ helpful in enhancing mental clarity, boosting energy, and reducing feelings of fatigue.
NAD+ can also help support healthy metabolism, improve mood, increase motivation, and aid recovery after physical activity. In short, NAD+ therapy promotes vitality, helping you feel your best and maintain your active lifestyle.

Patients often describe feeling noticeably more energized, focused, and motivated shortly after about 2-4 weeks of using NAD+ treatments. Many experience improvements in mood, sleep quality, mental clarity, and overall productivity. Physically active patients frequently notice faster recovery and less fatigue after exercise.
Overall, NAD+ injections tend to leave patients feeling refreshed, balanced, and ready to tackle their daily routines with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
At Seriously Health, NAD+ injections are paid for individually at the time of service, whether administered in-office or shipped directly to your home for convenient self-administration. Pricing begins at $45 for a 25 mg injection, $55 for a 50 mg injection, and $70 for a 100 mg injection. We take pride in offering the most competitive NAD+ pricing in the Virginia Beach area, ensuring that optimal health remains accessible and affordable.

It is important to consult your healthcare provider for a full evaluation based on your unique medical history and current health status.
-
Can my child be a patient at Seriously Health?Yes, we see patients ages 12 and older who classify under pediatric obesity. Certain weight loss medications are approved for use starting at age 12, while others may only be appropriate at age 16 or 18. Some treatments may be prescribed off-label and are not FDA-approved for pediatric use. In all cases, both the patient and the parent or legal guardian must provide written consent for treatment.
-
What happens if my BMI becomes normal or I reach my goal weight? If your BMI drops below 25, it is possible that you may no longer require weight loss medications. In this situation, your healthcare provider will reassess your eligibility to determine if you are eligible for maintenance therapy with various medications. Whenever you decide to stop medication, let us know. We will wean you off of medication slowly over the next 1-2 months, to allow your body to acclimate back to normal so that you can maintain your hard-earned weight loss.
-
Are there special requirements for controlled substances or stimulants?Yes. All controlled substances and stimulants (including phentermine, diethylpropion, and phendimetrazine) require an EKG and bloodwork prior to receiving a prescription. Copies of EKG's or bloodwork cannot be older than 6 months. If they are, we can repeat these tests in the office for a fee. Initiation of controlled substances must be done with an in-office initial visit and not an initial telehealth visit; however, we can refill controlled substances virtually for follow-ups for 6 consecutive visits. We are required to pause prescription stimulants if in-office blood pressure measurements are abnormally elevated, or if EKG results are abnormal.
-
Do I get to choose the provider for my appointment?Certainly! When scheduling your appointment, you have the freedom to select from the roster of available licensed providers. This enables you to choose a healthcare professional who best aligns with your preferences and needs, and you are able to change your medical provider at any time.
-
Will my information be confidential and private?Yes. Rest assured that our services strictly adhere to HIPAA-compliance standards and privacy guidelines. We employ state-of-the-art technology to maintain the utmost security and confidentiality of your personal information. Your privacy is our priority, and we take every measure to ensure the protection of your sensitive data, both physically and electronically.
-
How much weight can I expect to lose?Weight loss results vary depending on factors such as your starting weight, underlying medical conditions, lifestyle habits, and the specific medication prescribed. Patients using GLP-1 or oral prescription medications—alongside healthy lifestyle changes—often experience a weight reduction of up to 15–25% of their initial body weight within their first year.
-
What type of provider will I see during my visits? Our team consists of licensed physicians and nurse practitioners who possess the qualifications to prescribe medications, order lab tests, and evaluate your symptoms and health objectives. They are well-equipped to develop a personalized care plan tailored to your specific needs.
-
Do I need to have lab work done before starting the program?Lab work is required for the prescription of controlled substances, such as stimulants, but not for non-controlled weight loss medications. During your initial visit, your licensed provider will review your medical history and goals, and order any necessary labs to ensure the safest and most effective treatment plan for you. For controlled substances, commonly ordered labs include a comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP), hemoglobin A1c, thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), and a lipid panel. Additional labs may be recommended based on your health profile. Periodic lab testing may also be required to monitor your response to treatment and ensure ongoing safety. Patients only on GLP-1's do not require labs. We accept outside labs no older than 6 months, and you may email them to our staff or upload them directly to your patient profile.
-
How do I book an initial appointment?Appointments can be scheduled online by clicking "Book Now," which will direct you to Vagaro, our HIPAA-compliant electronic health record platform. After selecting your appointment date and provider, you'll enter basic contact details (name, email, phone number), followed by a comprehensive medical history form. It's essential to complete this form before your visit so your provider can review your information in advance. At your initial appointment, your provider will discuss your health goals, review your medical history, and order any necessary lab tests or medications. Together, you'll create a personalized health plan, which may include lifestyle recommendations and prescription weight loss medications if appropriate. Once treatment begins, monthly follow-ups (either in-office or via telehealth) will help track your weight loss progress, medication tolerance, and any necessary lab tests or medication adjustments.
-
Do you accept insurance? We do not accept insurance as payment. Our services and treatments are seen as elective and non-medically necessary by most insurance policies. We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash, or CareCredit. We can also accept HSA/FSA for appointments.
-
Who qualifies for weight loss medications?Patients who are overweight, obese, or seeking elective weight loss support may qualify for prescription medications and medical guidance. Our most common patients have a BMI greater than 25 and have previously attempted lifestyle changes but experienced a plateau. We also provide care for pediatric patients aged 12 and older. Your healthcare provider will evaluate your individual situation to determine the best medications or treatments tailored to your goals.
-
What is your refund and cancellation policy? Our Seriously Health program is a zero-commitment program. We do not require any monthly auto-payments or subscriptions, therefore you will never have a plan that you would need to cancel verbally. Our appointments require a 50% deposit when booking. If you have not had an appointment for > 6 months, your next appointment is automatically scheduled as an initial visit to re-establish care. If a medication’s cost makes it financially impractical for you to continue, you may stop immediately. However, please be aware that refunds for prior visits will not be granted. You may cancel or reschedule you appointment free of charge more than 24 hours in advance. If you do cancel or no-show within 24 hours of your appointment, your 50% booking deposit will not be refunded. We also cannot legally refund or accept returns on shipped prescriptions medications once they have been ordered and/or delivered- even if they have been unopened. This is due to medication safety regulation, not policy. We do understand that life happens. For sudden emergencies, speak with our reception staff and they will work with you to reschedule your visit. If you have any inquiries about a cancellation, please reach out to our dedicated customer care team and we will be more than happy to assist you.

Where can I get my lab tests done? You can have your labs drawn at our location for a $25 drawing fee. If you are a virtual patient, you may have blood work drawn at a laboratory of your choosing (either Quest of LabCorp), via lab slip or electronic order. If you have already completed necessary lab tests within the past six months, you can upload the results on Vagaro for your clinician to review, or e-mail them directly to our team.
